'The HoopKidz Philosophy'
     Everybody can learn the game...

Our teaching philosophy is derived from the combined years of experience and skills of our Staff that all children can learn the game of Basketball in a fun and exciting environment. Our successful methods of teaching and training have produced skill improvement, Basketball understanding and appreciation for over 11,000 children.

The HoopKidz approach to introducing Basketball skills to our youngest participants (ages 3,4,5, & 6) involves teaching all aspects of the Game, but with an emphasis on the many games we have developed often masquerade the dribbling, passing, and shooting skills they promote. Our students get so involved in the individual focus (and fun!) of these games, they're often not aware of the Basketball skill development aspect of our games! For our older participants (ages 7 and up), HoopKidz emphasizes preparing our students for each level of organized play they will encounter. We teach them all aspects of Offensive and Defensive Basketball, terminology, and introduce them to the different aspects of the game and the rules of the game they'll encounter playing for their Recreation, Boys and Girls club, School team, AAU clubs, etc.

HoopKidz is largely non-competitive (However, our HoopKidz Summer Basketball Camp does offer competitive team play aspects). It's a skill development program carefully designed to prepare children for competitive play at each age level. Skill development, Teamwork and Sportmanship are the foundation of our highly successful training program.
